SINGLE ACCESS CABINETS from Intelligent Storage

Where the cost and need of individual drawer cabinets exceed your requirements Intelligent Storage can offer the Single Access Cabinet as a solution. Employing ALL the functionality of the Individual Drawer Cabinets with the exception of the fact that the whole cabinet is unlocked.

The cabinet has two methods of access control.

1. Locally using an identification device such as iButton or RFID tag.

2. Remotely via the built in RS485 interface to a PC or similar, or optionally via a standard Ethernet interface.

LOCAL CONTROL

Upon presentation of the identification device by the operator the cabinet will search its database to find a identity match and if found will illuminate the respective drawer buttons notifying that access is allowed at these locations. The operator simply then pressed the appropriate button for the drawer that they wish to gain access and it will be unlocked to allow items to be removed or replaced. The access event will be internally logged by identity and time for later retrieval.

To create operator authorisation a "swipe" by a supervisor identification device, followed by the operators identification device allows the supervisor to allow or decline authorisation for each drawer in the cabinet for the respective operator.

REMOTE CONTROL

Utilising the RS485 protocol the cabinet can be connected to a host device for access by remote control. An example of using this method  of connection is for interfacing to some form of stock control software, whether your own, or specified by Intelligent Storage. We can currently directly interface to AutoTAS, Cribmaster, ITMS and many others. The storage cabinet has a full interface specification which is available to end users and system integrators to ease the integration process. Local control can be achieved via industry standard RS485 permitting up to 32 cabinets on one wire pair, or alternately using the optional Ethernet connection where the maximum number of cabinets is only limited by your IT infrastructure.

Intelligent Storage has the capability to fit the Intelligent Locking system to many other makes and styles of cabinets, we can even provide the fitting service on site (UK Mainland only). We have so far fitted out FAME, FAMEPLA (POLSTORE), LISTA and  BOTT cabinets.
